Flagstaff YMCA Summer Sports Registration is Here!!!

We have numerous sports programs for this summer including basketball, volleyball (competitive and recreational), indoor soccer and itty-bitty basketball, soccer and t-ball. YMCA youth sports programs are an assured good time for kids while they exercise, learn the fundamentals of sports and engage in teamwork in an atmosphere of total fun. We will have two summer sessions, the first beginning on June 7th and running through July 3rd, and the second beginning on July 5th running to July 30th.

Basketball will take place at the YMCA gym on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30. Athletes grades 1 through 6 are encouraged to join and learn the fundamentals of dribbling, shooting and defense.

Competitive volleyball will take place with practices on Mondays between 4:30 and 5:30 while games will be held on Fridays from 5:00 to 6:00 at the YMCA gym. This program is designed for volleyball players with playing experience between fifth and seventh grade. Recreational volleyball will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30 to 4:30 at the YMCA gym. In recreational volleyball, athletes will stick to learning the fundamentals of the game.

Indoor soccer is for athletes in 1st to 4th grade. In this program athletes will learn the basics of dribbling, trapping and scoring. Kids will be rotated throughout the positions to learn how to play goalie, forward and defender. Soccer will take place in the YMCA gym with practices on Tuesday or Thursday from 3:30 to 4:30 and games on Fridays from 3:30 to 5:00.

For those who are too young for any of the previously mentioned sports, itty-bitty is the program for you. Itty-Bitty sports are grounded in teaching the kids the fundamentals of teamwork while having fun, exercising and playing a sport. Athletes from ages 3 to 5 can join t-ball, soccer, or basketball. T-ball will practice Mondays or Wednesdays between 4:00 and 6:00 at either South Beaver or Kinsey Elementary with games on Fridays between 4:00 and 6:00. Soccer will take place on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 to 2:45 in the YMCA gym. Basketball will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 2:45 in the YMCA Gym.

Finally, we will have summer sports camps that will take place in two week sessions for indoor tennis, basketball, dance, volleyball and indoor soccer. All camps will be located at the YMCA between 9am and 12pm (except dance 1pm-4pm).
